Tahoe National Forest Campgrounds Along Highway 49. Elev. 2200 ft. Vault toilets, most have water. Fees approx. $16-$20 per unit. Indian Valley is closest. See www.fs.fed.us/r5/tahoe/recreation/yr_north/summer.shtml for more information. Selecting the book now options takes you to www.recreation.gov site and from there you should put "Indian Valley" in the search criteria. Early in the season the sites may show as "not available", but you can acess the camp sites, but no services (and no fees), so bring your own water etc.
