In Camptonville, 6 miles west of meeting location. Reservations available, hot showers, water, some electric hook-ups & cabanas. Cabins and teepees.Tahoe National Forest Campgrounds Along Highway 49. Elev. 2200 ft. Vault toilets, most have water. Fees approx. $16-$20 per unit. Indian Valley is closest. See www.fs.usda.gov for more information on the Tahoe National Forest, and the Hwy 49 area in particular. They are updating their web site as of April 2011, so you might also want to go directly to www.recreation.gov site and enter "Goodyear's Bar, CA" in the "Near" search criteria on the left. This is actually 5.6 miles north towards Downieville, and the closest campgrounds are Indian Valley, Rocky Rest and Fiddle Creek. Early in the season the sites may show as "not available", but you can access the camp sites, but no services (and no fees), so bring your own water etc.
