Group Rafting Trips - General Information:

Tributary Whitewater Tours offers excellent rafting discounts for all types of groups, including youth, scouts, corporate, church, bachelor parties and family reunions. Choice of river trip will very much depend on youngest or oldest member of party, swimming and athletic ability (choose based on the less able in the group), length of rafting trip and desired location.

We have been operating rafting trips in California since 1978, and have an excellent safety record and a low turnover of staff. Due to the number of more difficult rivers we offer, we use only self-bailing rafts and our guides are, at a minimum, certified in first aid, CPR and swift-water rescue. Our guides are extremely qualified, but have the personalities to ensure a safe but fun trip on any level of whitewater.

See our group discounts on our price page. We also have a special system for groups to make the whole payment thing easier for the organizer. We understand that this can be a big head ache with groups of this type, especially if the participants are widely scattered. This does limit the discount available, but definitely saves some stress and lets us take care of more of the work for you.

Corporate Group Rafting Trip:

We offer discounts of 10-25% for corporate groups, depending on the size of the group and the timing of the event. Weekday trips offer significant savings. Also, during the off season months of April, May and September, larger discounts may be possible. One of the most popular rafting trips for these kind of groups is the South Fork American River, which is fun enough for most, without being too scary for some.

We have many corporate and other large groups among our clients (Google, Intel, Ebay, Verisign etc.), but we still offer friendly, personal service and will customize any trip if required. We offer a diversity of trips that can accommodate all levels of rafters, from novices to some of the most difficult whitewater to be found in the USA.

Youth Group Rafting Trips:

We recommend you check out our Rafting With Children page to select the right level of whitewater rafting for your youth group depending on the youngest rafter in the party (or the swimming ability or confidence).  Also err on the side of caution, as with most youth groups the ratio of adult paddlers to youth paddlers is usually less than with a family group.

Discounts of 15-30% for scout and other youth groups are available. The largest discounts apply during the off season months of April, May and September.. We offer a diversity of trips, suitable for both the younger and older youth groups. Pricing will depend on the trip, time of year and number of participants. We will be glad to give you a quote on a particular trip and date and also see discounts on our cost page.

We have many student, YMCA, church, scout and other youth groups among our clients who have been rafting with us for a number of years. With such groups, we often find that the organizers and parents have concerns about the level of safety and experience offered, and we can assure you that we are very well qualified to care for your youth group.

Bachelorette and Bachelor Party rafting Trips:

One of our most popular trips for a bachelor party is the Middle Fork American River, especially if you are looking at a multiple day trip and want a private/custom trip with less restrictive camping rules. This river does require that all participants be swimmers and in reasonable physical shape. On the Middle Fork American River, we recommend booking well in advance on weekends as it is a restricted river. There are discounts for Friday/Saturday multi-day trips and some great rates for weekdays for both 1 day and multi-day trips.

During the spring and early summer, the North Yuba River also allows for some rustic, private camping. This rafting trip also requires swimming ability.

For those looking for something fun and a bit easier, check out the different options on the South Fork American River near Sacramento and the Truckee River is popular for those combining some party time in the Lake Tahoe or Reno areas. Camping is available in these areas or there are plenty of good accomodations nearby.

Adult Church Group rafting trips:

Much of the same criteria apply to our corporate groups, so see our comments above. However, some church groups may have other requirements about gender specific guides, attire and food restrictions. We have comfortably dealt with all these issues and are more than willing to work with your church group to accommodate whatever specific needs your group has.

Family Reunion Rafting Trips:

For multi-day trips with children 17 and under, we recommend trying one of our Family Special Trips, where youths raft at discounts from 20-50% (one special discount with each full paying adult). You might also look at Rafting with Children for guidelines on trips suitable for the different age groups.

If the Family Special dates do not work for you, the same trips are available on other dates. We also offer shorter trips on many of the rivers suitable for families, and recommend weekdays whenever possible for best prices. Youths 17 and under receive a 10% discount on regular trips, plus some group discounts. Our group discounts start at 5% with 6 people and discounts of 10%-25% are available for larger groups.
